Considering the recognizing values of historical building in order to conservation is necessary, it is possible to be successful by familiarity with the methods of extracting information from various documents and the link between them. Various historical documents include written documents, oral documents, visual documents, objects and the historical building itself, which can be examined in order to recognition and represent the identity and Authenticity of the heritage. This study's main purpose is the process of achieving comprehensive knowledge through the link between different types of historical documents. This study tries to pave the way for researchers by clarifying the path of using different study documents and using them in the process of recognizing a historical building, which tries to identify the total information obtained from linking them by descriptive-historical method by correctly reading the available sources and analyzing the data. In order to better understand, Kahak Water-Mill in Tehran has been considered. In relation to this building, reading of written documents (Deed Of Endowment) and visual documents (aerial photograph) is the main field of recognizing, which is completely how to read, extract information from them and examine their link with other documents in a comprehensive recognition of kahak water-mill building, has been considered. Finally, the method of establishing this link and using all the documents together is stated, can be generalized to other historical monuments.
