<abstract>
 Nowadays, with the development of the modern world and population growth, urban sprawl and the formation of new and surrounding cities, identity of the residents and a sense of belonging to the location and the city is neglected or completely forgotten. One of the things that threats the identity is the globalization and global village phenomenon that eliminated entire traditional boundaries and eventually leads a person can belongs anywhere, but in this situation the person not belong to anywhere and the characteristics and identity of his place will be lost. Thus, society becomes a cultural space without identity, without distinction and more complex. With location features individual identity and sense of belonging to a specific location or city can be created and strengthened. This study was conducted to identify the indices of urban identity and to evaluate the impact of one of the indicators of identifying (religious places).The method used in this research was survey and required data obtained by using questionnaires distributed among 300 residents of neighborhoods of Shahzadeh Ebrahim in the Isfahan city. To measure the impact of identifying indices, structural equation modeling in the Amos Graphic software is used for the statistical analysis.The results of this study show that among the five indices obtained for identity, social index influences on environmental, physical and conceptual indices, environmental index on physical and functional indices and physical index influences on conceptual index and there is a significant relationship and correlation between the indices. From existing relationships, the highest correlation is related to the impact of social index on conceptual index and lowest amount is related to the impact of conceptual index on the physical index.

 <abstract>
 Studies of Iranian architectural history have often been focused on the history of architecture per se, while people involved in creating architectural monuments have usually received less attention in research. Looking at the resources about Iranian architecture, it can be said that most of the structures in Iran were built and repaired by masons, craftsmen, or builders. On the other hand, apart from the formal patrons, masons have as well contributed remarkably to the Iranian architecture. Similarly, masons and traditional restorers had an important role in conservation of Iranian architecture throughout the history. There is no doubt that the evolution of society particularly in modern age have had fundamental effects on the way that traditional builders and architects used to work. Academic education and modern material and architecture are some of the reasons for this change. Modern development (after the introduction of academic education in Iran) and its consequence needs is one of the reason for dramatic changes in masons' practice.

This paper brings into attention the importance of the knowledge that contributed by traditional masons/builders and stress the significance of their skills for a better understanding of the traditional Iranian architecture. Furthermore, the paper highlights the factors that led to the ignorance of masons in Iran today's restoration practice. These factors will be provided by the pathological view in this study and for discussing the causes of this situation, employs qualitative and historical approach as methodology of study. It seems the subsequent changes in society and the influence of modern architecture has led to the gradual loss of position of traditional architects in the design and supervision process. Nonetheless, in the conservation field, Te hands-on experience of the traditional architects was regarded an advantage, and attempted to be employed.

 <abstract>
 SAVEH JAME mosque was erected in different periods like Isfahan's and Ardestan's Jame. Consideration of these constructions provides a lot of information about Iranian architecture evolution. Therefore, scholars analyze and separate the historical and physical periods in these buildings to understand Iranian architecture and the process of conversions correctly, based on historical method. Main four historical terms is suggested for SAVEH JAME mosque. This category is based on some criteria like techniques of architectural structure and covering, materials, date of ornaments and coincidence with the behind structure, precedence and subsequence of fabrics and relation between them and old floors, comparative analysis with similar construction. Today some important parts of mosque that is retained consist in trapezoid yard (Sahn), southern Shabestan, western and eastern Shabestan with adobe columns and arc between them, Ahang arc, columns of northern Shabestan, rotunda and its forward Ivan, high western Ivan, construction with cross plan in southwest, the northeast minaret and various Mehrab and other decorations like Mehrab. Physical aspects of mosque are vague at first glance. Western Ivan, singular northeast minaret, entrances, ornaments of different terms are constituents without any relation with each other. This paper seeks to clarify the vague points by considering duration of mosque construction in different terms. Historical terms of mosque: 1. First term (primary mosque) (first Hegira century till the middle of fifth century) some adobe columns and some columns which are made from combination of adobe and mud are remained from this duration. Moreover, there are some adobe arcs that connect these columns to each other. 2. Second term (the middle of fifth Hegira century till early in seventh century) in this term, especially during Malekshah kingdom, some important parts of Saveh mosque was completed. Foundation of minaret was built. In addition two Navs were omitted then rotunda and its forward Ivan were constructed, adobe columns and arcs between them were invigorated by brick and some decorative elements were built by plaster on three northern columns in southern Shabestan. 3. Third term (seventh Hegira century till early in tenth century) three Navs were removed and a high Ivan is constructed about 11 meters in length. Furthermore, some main inner elevations were ornamented by brick. 4. Fourth term (early in tenth Hegira century till middle of thirteen century) in this term, the general structure of mosque did not change a lot. Some parts of construction (with structural problems) have been repaired. A cross plan building was constructed in southwest corner. Beside last arc (Tavizeh) and the next arch after it were omitted in west Ivan and a half dome was constructed there. A new tow-layered domed construction with square plan was constructed instead of an old domed construction with rectangular plan.

 <abstract>
 The international conservation documents are one part of the most consequential achievements of human communities' collaboration in recent 50 years. These documents are the abstract of international experiences as well as demonstrating the increase and evolution of communal knowledge and conception in conservation field. The expansion of new conceptually vocabulary, and also the entrance of novel meanings to the documents after the Venice charter, have caused the conservation doctrine to be improved and the more complicated heritage patterns such as rural heritage, to be considered. Mentioning some of these meanings has directly affected on the overall admission of some neglected aspects of village - as a dominant part of human heritage , and some others on presenting more elaborated and multidisciplinary attitude to it. The purpose of this essay is to discuss the effective concepts in the documents and to analyse how effective they would be on improving the necessity of rural values conservation.This paper is the result of analysing and studing about forthy documents extracted from 3 international organizations: UNESCO, ICOMOS and Council of Europe, hence limited to them.Library studies and investigation of the original texts have provided the necessary basic information for the essay.this study is considered to be categorized in qualitative researches, following a descriptive-analytic research strategy.This essay is exploring the appearence of seven meanings, having the most influence on the genesis and evolution of the concept of rural heritage: living heritage, quality of life, sustainability, cultural landscape, vernacular, intangable heritage and the spirit of the place.The following study reveals that each on of those meanings being recognized precisely, can illuminate widely the new aspects of rural heritage and lead to approximate the "rural heritage" to the total concept of "village".The overall analysis of this prosses Illuminate that the future vision of evolutionary concept of “rural heritage” will confront the challenge of multiplicity and adopting it with its ontological roots.

 <abstract>
 It is now since some decades ago that the issue of physical decay and urban deteriorated fabrics reached the Iranian cities and has imposed itself as a serious urban problem. However it is deemed to be more significant and problematic issue due to the redefinition of physical decay within a triple criterion defining the urban deteriorated fabrics. The most important part of this definition is the division of physical fabric into three layers divided to hyperfine-grain, impermeability and structural instability of buildings. Although it could reveal some critical issues in the terms of physical setting of urban deterioration but it seems that a major part of the problem would remain apart. This article states the reality of deterioration as a vast concept containing interrelated factors which reveals a nature of integrity in the phenomenon of urban decay. As such the physical decay is only a sign of the distress which could be formally analyzed by the triple criteria. This article seeks to demonstrate the concept of integral deterioration and make an emphasis on this fact that the integral deterioration is something vaster and somehow unknown that if would not be considered as it is, a series of ignored factors would lead to a worse condition during a process of declination. In this study the related dimensions and indicators of integral deterioration have been extracted and then the most relevant indicators are weighted through an AHP process. This indicates the importance of each factor in the process of estimation of integral deterioration. Finally the official map of the deteriorated fabrics in the 10th Municipal District of Mashhad has been compared with a new map developed through the projection of weighted indicators in the GIS environment. The newly developed map would show the different aspects of deterioration in a framework of interdependent indicators and makes a holistic perspective towards the reality of deteriorated urban fabric. The result shows that a significant part of the deteriorated fabric has been ignored in the official map and the lack of an integrated approach is the main cause for this ignorance that makes the inefficiency of urban fabric remain misunderstood and therefor unsolved.

 <abstract>
 Architecture and urbanism of Iran and consequently, the house architecture in the Qajar and the first Pahlavi periods has changed greatly. Gorgan city's architecture, like other places in Iran, has received different developments which has made structure of historic houses of the Qajar and the first Pahlavi different from each other. These developments at the physical field have led to changes in three fields of houses: indoors, semi-open spaces (balcony), and outdoors (yard). These changes have their roots in different factors like alteration in habitation style, conversion of multi-family living into single-family one, novel building materials, westernization, conversion of traditional introverted housing into foreign extroverted one, or generally speaking change in life style. This research tries to study process of changes in indoor and outdoor spaces of Gorgan's native houses from the Qajar to the first Pahlavi period. Thus using descriptive-analytic research method, test of the means at spss software was used to prove that changes of the means of spatial dimensions of data is significant with an error of 0.05 (Pvalue<0.05).Then determining the process of prediction, relation between changes of spatial dimensions of indoors and outdoors is specified and the results is shown in diagrams. For this purpose all worthy and historic houses of Gorgan city which were suitable physically for field survey were chosen as a sample. So 10 houses related to the Qajar and 8 houses related to the first Pahlavi have been chosen and their indoor and outdoor spatial dimensions were measured. The results of study not only prove that process of changes in spatial dimensions of indoor and outdoor spaces of houses over two periods is significant but also introduces A=0/25B1+2B2+0/5B3 as a change function of spatial dimensions over two periods. In this function B1 represents semi-open space, B2 represents outdoor space, and B3 represents indoor space. This research also tries to say that overall process of changes in spatial dimensions more than any other factor is a function of social changes and change of life style.

 <abstract>
 This research has endeavored to investigate popular locations in the Isfahan’s Jame mosque (Atiq) for different groups of users, discover the meaning that they received and finally identify the architectural features which effect on stops and behaviors by a reverse process. The main question of this study is: how do the dominant physical and spatial features of the Jame (Atiq) mosque impact the behavior of its users? All of the behaviors have studied by analyzing the basic theories and the psychological fieldwork include observation by the techniques of “behavioral map and list” and “Questionnaires” by the techniques of “differentiation meaning” and “grasping the mental map”. By employing the SPSS21 software, the results of the gathered data from the questionnaires were separately analyzed for the different groups of the users which were divided by the “age”, the “gender” and the “aim of being in the mosque”. By overlapping the results of mentioned methods it can see that there is a meaningful relationship between the architectural features of different parts of Jame (Atiq) mosque and the behavior of its users; the architectural features of each part of the mosque create a different meaning in different groups of users and cause different behaviors.

 Abstract

Calligraphy is the outstanding art of Islamic world. Hence, one can easily see the influence of the art of calligraphy in the Islamic art branches, including architectural decorations. The main purpose of this fundamental research, assess and compare the content of wooden Nastaliq inscriptions that have been used in architectural decoration in Safavid dynasty in Iran.The case studies are choosen among of those samples that contain Nastaliq inscription which made by wood. The time limitation of this study is the Safavid era (906-1135 AH). In this paper, after preliminary library studies, due to limited statistical samples (because of separation of Nastaliq from the other calligraphic styles) census is taken.

The two main questions of this study are: When Nastaliq inscriptions used in the wooden architectural decorations for the first time? And what are the main contents inscribed on wooden decoration by Nastaliq in Safavid period?

The results indicate that the 17 inscriptions have been studied, in most of the buildings are located on the entrance doors. In the case of chronology, Nastaliq was used in middle 10th century A.H for the first time in the wooden inscriptions. General concepts used including valuable historical information that can be invoked as evidence first-hand. Also, the results show that Content posted in this group of inscriptions are not the Koranic verses and Islamic phrases. Often themes of the inscriptions are lyrics fit with the date, description of the building or work and mentioning the names of various people (King, Bonnie, Calligrapher, Poet and Manufacturer) and panegyric writing.

 <abstract>
 Historical Bazar of Tehran, which has been the commercial center and the heart of the city in Ghajar eras, still is the commercial center of Tehran despite some changes that have been made in its corpus and function. It is one of the most memorable treasuries of historic Tehran along with Arg and baghemelli Complex.There are various functional and corporal aspects of Tehran’s historic bazar that could be discovered if there are studied and classified. The goal of this study is to introduce the classifications of different corporal and functional qualities of Tehran’s historic bazar. This study has been done by descriptive historical method which is based on a quantitive qualitative study. In this paper the assessment of corporal and spatial parts of Tehran bazar is based on a Matrix formed of three corporal scales and two functional scales which are as follows: “assessment of corporal integrity”, “Qualitative measurement form and historical corpus”, “Evaluation of corporal interventions”, “Functional mobility assessment”, “Measurement functional durability”.Finally after the evaluation of historic bazar of Tehran in terms of durability in two dimensions of corporal and functional, which was based on the mentioned Matrix 184 states were found. 43 states of those possessed values, of which 9 possessed more values. In this study these values have been found and presented as dominant qualities in corporal and functional resilience of Tehran’s historic bazar.
