abstract ={Identifying the most suitable strategy for the adaptive reuse of historic architectural heritage is a complex challenge. This is because each rehabilitation project of an abandoned historic building must not only ensure the simultaneous pursuit of social, cultural and financial goals, but also the transmission of tangible and intangible values to future generations. Knowledge of contemporary urban interventions and plans and their integration with the reality that the environment according to the society&#39;s culture will be highly accepted in its regeneration and protection. it will bring social solidarity and social structure in traditional, cultural, social, semantic, spatial, and economic fields. Therefore, its protection is important for the survival of living intangible heritage and neglected intangible heritage according to UNESCO conventions. &#34;Place and memory, meaning: preservation of intangible values in buildings and areas &#34;reveals the necessity of investigation. Because the place should be looked at in more complex and deeper dimensions. From this point of view, the urban space is studied not only based on its physical and formal existence, but also on the social and cultural context in which it emerged, the forces of power that shaped it, and the actors who play a role in. Historic sites continue their existence as living entities through contemporary local interventions. Many of these sites must examine the criteria for sustainable development to address the needs of contemporary actors, or else they will suffer irreparable damage. Despite numerous studies on contemporary interventions, there is a glaring lack of comprehensive research aimed at protecting intangible heritage. This study aims to identify the variables required to preserve the intangible heritage governing the buffer zone of the Tabriz Historical Bazaar World Heritage Site, emphasizing the preservation of contextual and sustainable values. The mixed-method research approach involves qualitative and quantitative data collection and exploratory factor analysis. To extract variables aligned with intangible values, 13 iconic and memorable buildings were selected with the confirmation of 10 experts in the field. A questionnaire with 69 questions was distributed among 110 residents in the study area. After testing the normality of data distribution using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, the analysis employed means tests, structural analysis, and multiple linear regression. The Cronbach&#39;s alpha reliability coefficient of 0.855 indicates the trustworthiness of the research instrument. The results show that security, social interactions, quality of life, accessibility, vitality, and physical form have the greatest impact on the performance, scale, physical form, skyline, accessibility, and longevity of buildings in the protection of intangible heritage within the buffer zone of the Tabriz Historical Bazaar World Heritage Site. &#160;},

title = {Explaining the Physical Aesthetic Components of Light in Home Architecture (Case Study: Qajar Era Houses in Yazd)}, 
abstract ={Abstract The multifaceted role of light, including defining space, enhancing efficiency, and adding beauty to the environment, has made it one of the essential pillars of architecture. Concerns regarding the quality of natural light and lighting with it are influenced by human needs, in which the process of aesthetic perception plays a prominent role. This process goes beyond creating suitable conditions to support visual function and is influenced by objective and subjective factors, where the objective aspect acts as a foundation for the subjective aspect. Consequently, understanding the aesthetic characteristics in the architecture&#39;s physical form becomes fundamentally important. The aim of this paper is to identify the physical aesthetic components of natural light in home architecture and find the relationship between them. To this end, the research method is designed as a combination of descriptive and content analysis methods. Initially, library and documentary data are collected and analyzed to form the theoretical basis of the research. Then, based on the non-probability sampling method, instances are selected and preliminary information is gathered from them through field methods. Finally, content analysis is used to perform initial and conceptual coding of the data to identify the physical aesthetic components of light. For this purpose, library tools, databases, observation, and MAXQDA software are utilized. The results of this article reveal ten components: &#34;brightness-darkness,&#34; &#34;visual order-dispersion,&#34; &#34;complexity-simplicity of light,&#34; &#34;warm-cool color,&#34; &#34;visual legibility-ambiguity,&#34; &#34;visual transparency-concealment,&#34; &#34;visual distinction-uniformity,&#34; &#34;visual mystery-clarity,&#34; &#34;light hierarchy,&#34; and &#34;visual continuity.&#34; These components illustrate how natural light plays a role in shaping and connecting different spaces within the home. By elucidating these components, it can be concluded that light plays two fundamental roles in beautifying the physical form of the home: first, light as a space creator and secondly, light as a space connector. &#160;},

Among the research conducted in this field at the international level, the existing knowledge in the field of biomimetic is not small and its examples are increasing. This is in the case that in architectural design, less attention has been paid to the process of architectural design inspired by nature. This research intends to formulate the stages of the architectural design process through analogy to nature. There are two main questions in this research: 1) what are the stages of the design problem-based process by analogy with nature? 2) What is the relationship between the architectural design processes defined by thinkers and the design process through analogy to nature? The method of this research is a logical argument that according to library studies and using analysis and description of studies over the problem-solving stages in parenting psychology, the problem-solving process of design and their adaptation to the problem-solving process It deals with an analogy to nature. This study finds that problem-solving through analogy to nature is one of the exploratory ways to solve the problem of architectural design, which is called problem-based Biomimetic and a process can be defined for it. The adaptation of existing architectural design processes to problem-based biomimetic processes has led to the introduction of problem-based biomimetic design processes in architecture. &#160;},

abstract ={&#160;Each architectural ornament within a specific space or building must be considered in relation to its surrounding elements for restoration purposes. It is imperative to avoid isolating individual ornaments or their parts when making decisions about restoration interventions, display methods, or relocation. However, this principle cannot be universally applied to all types of wall paintings. Canvas marouflaged murals that are not aligned with the semantic structure of the architectural space present a unique challenge. This study investigates the relationship between the creator&#39;s intent and the creation process of canvas marouflaged murals and their impact on restoration and display methods. Additionally, it explores the applicability of syntax theory in the conservation and restoration of these murals. The primary objective is to clarify the concept of syntax within the context of Iranian architectural ornaments, particularly canvas marouflaged murals, considering their dual nature and to provide a suitable interpretation of syntax theory. This developmental research, classified as applied-developmental, delves into the written sources to define the concept of syntax and examine the relationship between these murals and the semantic structure of the architectural space. The study categorizes canvas marouflaged murals based on their alignment with the architectural space. For those that do not align, the syntax theory may not be applicable. Syntax theory, as a novel approach in the restoration of canvas marouflaged murals, can contribute to preserving and strengthening the internal structure and organization of these valuable works. &#160;},

abstract ={The study of the environmental quality field is important due to its impact on the comfort of residents and the energy consumption of buildings. Additionally, due to the increase in apartment living in recent years, the necessity for studies that identify the factors affecting the comfort and health of residents in residential buildings has grown. Most research considers the four elements of thermal comfort, sound, visual quality, and air quality to be the most important factors influencing indoor environmental quality. Various weighted models for these elements have been developed in numerous studies. However, these studies have mostly been conducted in different geographical and cultural contexts and primarily in office and educational settings, making the generalization of their results to other areas and uses unacceptable. The aim of the present study is to develop a weighted model of the impact coefficients of environmental factors affecting the indoor environmental quality in residential apartments in Iran and to examine the differences between this model and other existing models. In the first stage, a literature review was conducted to study the weighted models of indoor environmental quality factors and to identify the effective criteria. In the second stage, a Delphi panel of experts was held to evaluate the research criteria, and in the third stage, the criteria were weighted using the Fuzzy Best-Worst Method (FBWM). The results identified the thermal factor as the most important criterion, followed by lighting conditions, air quality, and sound conditions. Comparing the obtained results with other weighted models indicates differences in various geographical and cultural contexts and different uses. Accordingly, sound quality has the lowest weight in residential use, while it has the greatest impact on comfort in office use. Additionally, air quality in office and educational uses is prioritized higher than in residential use, and the positioning of the visual element in the second rank indicates the higher priority of lighting conditions in residential buildings. The results show that emphasizing the optimization of lighting conditions and reducing visual disturbance in residential spaces is the top priority for lighting design. Other results indicate that the quality of the environment&#39;s air is primarily determined by the sense of smell. Furthermore, ensuring acoustic comfort primarily depends on the acoustic properties of the building materials. &#160;},

abstract ={After the 1970s, with attention to the social outcomes of urban spaces, human-place interactions have been the focus of much research. Meanwhile, &#34;sense of place&#34; is a concept that, together with other widely used concepts in the field of human-place interactions (i.e. attachment to place, dependence on place, and place identity), has always been of interest. Although there is a critical need for a correct understanding and comprehensive explanation of the sense of place concept for its proper study, evaluation, measurement and application, there are scattered bodies of studies in terms of sense of place conceptualisation, its dimensions and components, and conceptual models in the field of environmental design research. Therefore, in this article has been tried to understand the concept of sense of place, its dimensions and components, and its correlated and close concepts in the field of human-place studies, and to identify and extract key concepts and theoretical perspectives in studies in the field of sense of place, via systematic narrative synthesis research strategy, to present a conceptual model of sense of place. In this context, narrative review is a research strategy to describe and discuss scientific theories and literature on a specific topic in a coherent and comprehensive narrative form along with a unified synthetic model. Thus, in this study, by identifying the original and complementary research articles, and based on the similarities and differences of the key concepts and theoretical perspectives in the selected studies, the final model combining these perspectives has been provided. Based on this research, the conceptual model of sense of place, and based on the validation and its credibility, including the proposed concepts, dimensions and components, have three aspects of &#34;intrinsic&#34;, &#34;multidimensional&#34; and &#34;relative&#34; nature. In this respect, the sense of place in this model expresses a complex system of internal connections between different affective, cognitive and conative dimensions of human-place interactions, and involves different levels of human-place interactions. Furthermore, the conceptual model presented is able to explain the correlation of sense of place with other commonly used concepts in the field, including place attachment, place dependence and place identity, and has many implications for future research and application in the field of urban design and planning.
