title = {Environmental monitoring of display cases in museums to consider the impact of display cases characteristics on their inner air quality},
abstract ={While technical characteristics, such as material used in the construction of display cases and their dimensions are important factors in terms of presentation quality as well as attracting the attention of the visitors, they can influence the inner air quality of the display case and preservation conditions of the exhibits too. This study intends to examine the effect of the technical characteristics of display cases in 6 museums located in the cities of Tehran, Berlin, and Bombay on the interior air quality in terms of chemical composition and corrosion potentials by adopting the results obtained from the analysis ad examination of the environment. In the course of the investigation, the manufacturing materials in the display cases were considered. Furthermore, the air exchange rate through the carbon dioxide tracer gas was measured, the concentration of gaseous pollutants (emitted from display case materials) via passive sampling by Palmes tubes and analysis of the samples by IC, HPLC and UV/visible spectrophotometer were carried out. Furthermore, the corrosive potential of the display cases was evaluated by copper, silver, and lead metal coupons. The results showed that the use of synthetic or natural materials in the construction of display cases even with low emission, acetic and formic acid, and formaldehyde might be increased in the airtight display cases with low air exchange rate over time because of accumulation of pollutants. These gaseous pollutants could damage the exhibits in the display cases. On the other hand, the dimensions of the display case are inversely proportional to the concentration of pollutants. In the same way, larger display cases show lower concentrations of pollutants. Therefore, the choice of materials and the air exchange rate of display cases play an important role in the air quality within the display case, which also affects the quality of the conservation and preservation of the exhibits.},

title = {The application and development of graph theory through the space syntax method: The implementation of analytical practical model in architecture},
abstract ={Abstract Over the last few decades, different mathematical methods have been used to design and analyze architectural spaces. Meanwhile, the graph theory provides an abstract model to study the spatial configuration, so that a simple and flexible mathematical framework is obtained to analyze the spatial topological features and their relationship with social and functional concepts in architectural and urban spaces. In the eighteenth century, the Euler theorem was the basis of graph theory and later led to the formation of the syntactical model of form, shape grammar and space syntax. The main question of this research is how designers and researchers can choose the appropriate space syntax technique to achieve their goals? The research process uses a qualitative approach and a descriptive-analytical method. Adopting library research and documentary studies, this investigation reviews various theories and experiences regarding the applications of graph theory and space syntax in architecture. Furthermore, the latest achievements in space syntax techniques are expressed. Then, the unique strengths and weaknesses that each technique possesses is identified and analyzed in a deductive manner. The aim is to provide a model for its optimal application in the design and analysis of architectural works by studying the principles of graph theory and extending it to space syntax techniques. This approach helps designers and architects evaluate the effectiveness of proposed designs during the design process or to analyze the spatial structure features of existing buildings and to provide appropriate solutions to different problems in each situation. The findings of the research indicate that convex space, axial line and intersection point techniques provide the basis for examining the relationship between spatial structure and social concepts and functions, hierarchy of access, modeling of motion patterns and the study of spatial index points and isovist technique and graphs of vision consider visual and perceptual capabilities of space. Finally, a model for intelligent application of the space syntax method by designers and architects and to achieve more accurate and useful analytical results is presented.},

title = {An Investigation into the Characterization of Gypsum Mortar of Seyed Shams-din Monument in Yazd, Iran},
abstract ={Abstract Gypsum and gypsum mortar are among the most sophisticated and unique traditional building materials of Iran that over the past two thousand years, by varying the strength properties as well as the gypsum mortar retention time, gypsum plaster artists have created diverse works with different techniques as architectural arrays, sometimes by decreasing or increasing the ratio of the water to gypsum in the mortar and sometimes by kneading the mortar to a more or less extent and sometimes by adding mineral and organic material to the gypsum mortar as a supplement. The peak of the art of stucco decoration during the Islamic period in Iran is the 14th century AD. One of the Monuments from this period in Yazd, Seyyed Shams-din, has outstanding stucco decoration and unique molded plaster. The inscription on the porch of this monument is one of these gypsum arrays that extends along three sides and unfortunately, some parts of it have been lost over time. In order to conserve this precious gypsum inscription, structural and technological studies need to be carried out on it, so that in the next stage, structural damage and its erosion process can be accurately and scientifically investigated and identified. The purpose of this research is to provide technical knowledge from the gypsum plaster of the porch inscription of this monument. In this regard, the depth and surface of the gypsum inscription, molded gypsum arrays and furthermore, the fine coat under this array were sampled and with the adoption of XRD, XRF, SEM-EDS analysis, contrastive analysis between these mortars were conducted. The results of this study indicate that the depth and surface of the gypsum inscription are structurally different from each other in which some parts of these differences are related to the timing of the inscription’s execution and the other part of these differences are related to the process of mortar change and erosion. The erosion and changes in the deep sections of the inscription were greater than the changes in the surface which caused a decrease in its strength due to the penetration of moisture and soluble salts from the supporting wall to the depth of the inscription.},

title = {Architectural Typology of Qashqai Black Tent},
abstract ={Abstract Traditionally, Iranian nomads in terms of their lives and livelihoods, the animated livestock or migration, have made their houses portable, durable, lightweight and quickly detachable and attachable. Nomadic black tent, made of canvas material with light and resistant structures in the different weather conditions and continuous transport, as self-sufficient is prepared by nomads, and black tents components are easily loadable on livestock. Other features of the structure are it being changeable in terms of its form at different time and in different seasons with specific and permanent elements, that are registered in four shapes of summer, winter, migration and rapid changes in unpredicted rainfall. Simplicity, flexibility, quickly assembled, and being affordable economically are the other advantages of black tents of the tribes. Due to the nature of the study and the need to understand the architectural and housing features, this research was carried out under a “descriptive research method” to illustrate the nature and status of the Qashqai tribe’s black tent. The sub-branches of descriptive research method, “survey” type and “cross-sectional method” were used. In order to collect the data based on the characteristics of migration architecture, “targeted theoretical sampling” was used over a period of one year. In order to conduct this investigation, in addition to library research, field research was done on the form, construction method, and the elements of the black tents of the Qashqai tribe in which their territory was from the South of the province of Isfahan to Fars, Booshehr, and Khoozestan provinces. The importance of this typology is that black tent of Qashqai tribe, is the only cube-shaped species of black tents in the world in the summer format. In addition to recording part of Iran’s cultural and architectural heritage, which is fading and dissolving, the findings of this study could inspire new ideas for designing new cable and tent structures in any cultural context. Due to the changes in recent decades in the lifestyle and livelihood of the Qashqai tribe, black tents have gradually been replaced by industrial tents. Furthermore, buildings have been built instead of black tents in nomadic dwellings. Unfortunately, alternatives to the black tent, do not have the Qashqai tribe identity, and are not inspired by the typology of Qashqai tribe black tent, to respond appropriately to changes in lifestyle and identity through the architecture body. It is hoped that this study could be a guide for designers and stakeholders with respect to the physical and cultural context.},

title = {Effective architectural factors on the durability of the traditional architecture of the Central Plateau of Iran},
abstract ={Abstract Nowadays, societies are witnessing demolished buildings that dishevel the city. There are many problems in the destruction of any concrete or steel structural building. Several reasons, including the advancement of technology on the one hand and cultural disease on the other hand, have resulted in the catastrophe of destruction and transportation of the rubbles in our society. Many countries in the world have taken effective steps to increase the useful life of buildings, and there are many recommendations for maintaining energy and national resources and land resources. The necessity of prolonging the useful life of buildings in our country is one of the issues that has been forgotten after Iran’s arrival to modernity. In the meantime, the durability of architecture in the traditional Iranian society has always been the focus of attention and the archetype of this architecture has been a guarantee of the long service life of buildings throughout the time. In the historical fabrics of Iran, there are buildings that have a useful life of several hundred years. Hence, the purpose of this study is to identify architectural factors affecting the useful life of traditional architecture. From the perspective of the research methodology, the research method of this study is qualitative and is based on a theoretical theory. In this research, a procedural approach is taken from the induction and is based on data analysis. By systematically gathering data using library resources, field studies, interviews with people and traditional architects and inductive analysis of knowledge about the long useful life of traditional architecture is obtained in the form of theoretical apparatus and has been stated as the “effective architectural factors on the durability of the traditional architecture of the Central Plateau of Iran”. Continuity of the body and use are two general principles for the durability of traditional Iranian architecture. Considerations regarding the location and deployment of a city or building, materials, techniques of construction and preservation of the building result in the continuation of the architectural structure. On the other hand, the survival of the body depends on the continuous use of the building. To survive, architecture must respond to the needs of the community day. The presence and flexibility of traditional architecture ensures its function continuity.},

title = {The effect of benefiting from restoration knowledge in collective spaces with a historical context in order to promote the sense of identity among citizens (A Case Study: Tehran Market)},
abstract ={Abstract Urban historical spaces are very important in terms of creating and identifying, manifesting culture, beliefs and behaviors and social relations. Today, with the rapid expansion of urbanization, the old spaces of the city, which are considered as the initial skeleton of the city, have received less attention and have become socially vulnerable tissues. Collective spaces are places of social and cultural interaction in societies and play an important role in shaping cities’ identities. The market, as one of the collective spaces, in addition to affecting economic conditions, plays an important role in creating face-to-face interactions as well as a sense of belonging to citizens in their living environment. The Tehran market is one of the oldest components of Tehran’s identity that has lost some of its basic features, such as a sense of peace and security, over the last few decades. Now, the main question of this research is whether it is possible to increase the sense of belonging of users by using the knowledge of restoration in a historical space? In order to answer this question, the present study aims to investigate the importance of restoration in the Tehran market from the perspective of business as an ancient communal space and its impact on users and to compare the impact of benefiting from it. The research method in this research is based on a survey-analytical type that has been used to collect information through fieldwork, questionnaires and software. In this regard, in the field, the study area was divided into three parts in terms of spatial quality, and 100 questionnaires based on Likert spectrum were distributed in each of these three areas. As for the data analysis, the SPSS software was used. Written tables were discussed. The results show that in the Tehran market, space users were more dependent on their environment, which is in the refurbished (50%), refurbished (30%) and non-refurbished (20%) sectors. This indicates that the amount of memory in refurbished spaces was higher than in other areas.},

abstract ={Collective rituals have always had an influence on the body, the function and thecontent of houses with an interaction with them. Houses, with space and ritual functionshave played a fundamental role in shaping the social structure of historical neighborhoodsand the religious and cultural foundations of society. Holding religious ceremonies inevery home has strengthened the social bonds of that home with society. In the Shiiteculture, the mourning ceremonies held in Muharram and Saffar are of high semanticvalidity and constitute a set of rituals and ceremonies that have gradually become diverseand part of the community’s culture. During the Safavid and Qajar periods, because ofthe role that religion played in the social life of society, specific places for worship wereestablished, the most prominent of which were the Ashura rituals. The ambiguity of therole of religious communities and rituals in influencing the creation and perpetuation ofEsfahan’s residential heritage and neglecting these aspects in the process of conservationand recognition of architectural heritage has been the main motivation for the presentstudy. This research seeks to answer how home-based religious rituals influence thesemantic, functional, and physical aspects of residential heritage. The following question:How do the religious rituals and rituals of Muslims influence the structure of historichouses in Esfahan was answered in the present study by analyzing the interplay of Muslimrituals and rituals as one of the identity-religious foundations of Iranians in the contentfunctionaland physical system of residential heritage, explaining changes and impactson the structure of Esfahan historical houses to be paid. This research is a descriptiveanalyticalone with the objective of development and by adopting library documents, field studies and interviews. The findings are analyzed by qualitative method throughcomparison and interpretation. The results show that the interaction and continuity ofreligious rituals and historical houses in Esfahan have caused the creation of domesticmourning objects. These objects have been manifested in the form of expanding religiousspaces and elements outside the physical boundaries and in conjunction with homeand changes in spatial organization, hall form, furnishings and architectural-relateddecorations.},

title = {Explaining Pattern-Based Reading in TeachingArchitectural History and Evaluating its Effectivenesson Architecture Students’ Ideation and Insights},
abstract ={In the following article, the necessity of effectiveness and application of historicalknowledge in architectural design is discussed. In other words, how historical data canbe an approach to enhance students’ design insights. A review of the literature suggeststhat one of the challenges of teaching architecture is helping students in the process ofcreating new ideas. Accordingly, one of the processes pursued by the designers and thestudents is referring to similar designs and the literature. Therefore, searching for tools andequipment that can help use previous literature and focus on their fundamental features,is of importance. The most appropriate leading-edge solution is to target architecturalhistory education by changing the teaching patterns that attempt to create contexts as wellas teaching students the correct ways and methods of adopting backgrounds to studentsand recall applications for achieving appropriate design elements and patterns so that theycan be used in today’s architecture in a new way. This study seeks to identify pattern-basedreading which is related to architecture and is a need for modern education of architecturalhistory, which will have a positive impact on the quality and variety of ideation of studentsmajoring in architecture. Therefore, the most important research questions of this studyare: what is the effect of pattern-based reading on the ideation process of students majoringin architecture? And what are the components of pattern-based reading in teachingarchitectural history? Hence, the present paper aims to find solutions to the application ofpatterns and concepts of architectural history in architectural design using pattern-basedreading in architectural history teaching through a qualitative-quantitative approach withempirical as well as a library-based research tools (through studying related theories anddefinitions), student questionnaire (content analysis), and field study through participatoryand non-participatory observation and finally, pre-test and post-test implementationand analysis of its results. By referring to the results obtained from the tests, and aftercontrolling the effect of the pre-test, the quality, and the variety in the ideas provided, there was a significant difference and since the experimental groups mean score was high, this indicated the positive effect of pattern-based reading in the instruction of architecturalhistory on the quality, variety of ideas, and art works created by students of architecture},

title = {Understanding Harim in Architecture with a Phenomenological Approach},
abstract ={Architecture reflects the human perception of their existential relations with the world andtherefore it creates meaningful places. Every place with its boundaries concretizes a Harim, whichis the manifestation of such existential relations. This interrelation between the boundary (Marz)and the Harim may cause us to assume them both the same, but these two are different. Althoughevery Harim has its boundaries, not every demarcation concretizes Harim. In architecture, onthe one hand, which always entails demarcation; paying attention to these conceptions is provedto be essential. On the other hand, though, it may cause to demote the conception of Harim toanother thing; consequently, this conception is likely to be regarded as a nominal one without anyrelations between it and fundamental meaning of architecture and it is just related with the bodyof architectural works. This research intends to explain theoretically that Harim is an essentialconcept in architecture. To achieve the intended purpose, the research seeks to find the originof Harim. Here, the research methodology, which is in the qualitative sphere, is grounded inlogicality. The majority of its arguments are founded on scholars’ phenomenological theories ofarchitecture. Accordingly, after studying about the word Harim and examining its etymology, the relation between three conceptions of human, place, and harim has been investigated tounderstand its status in architecture. The results are Harim:Which is a formative theorem is originated from human existence and their relationswith otherness.Judgments about Place and its authenticity and rightness is founded on Harim and itsideal concreteness. The form of Harim is the consequence of the very existence of beings. It connects and disconnects. Its emergence is not an absolute geometrical concept but it reflects existential aspectsof beings;Based on hierarchies of human’s existential relations, is able to create a continuousspectrum from the out of outside to the inside of in. title = {The Impact of Ilkhanid Religious Beliefs on 7th and 8th Century A.H. Religious Buildings},
abstract ={Iranian architecture underwent many changes under the influence of the Mongol invasion andtheir domination over the land of Iran. These changes are especially evident in the pre-existingreligious buildings. The changes that have taken place, sometimes have disturbed the spatialcoherence of the building so much that the relationship between the religious background of thebuilding and the physical characteristics of its builders seems to be quite confused. Therefore, the present study aims to explain the subject in two ways; First, by examining the historicaldevelopments in this period, the religious tendencies of the people and the rulers of the time wereanalyzed and the changes that have taken place in the religious buildings of this period with thechange of beliefs in the Ilkhanid rulers were investigated. In the first part, the research has beenconducted through a historical method, based on historical texts and documents. In the secondpart, six examples of the remains of buildings from the period under investigation have beenexamined. In this section, with the help of field studies, the changed components in the buildingwere identified and categorized, and how these changes became clear was stated. The presentstudy indicates that at the beginning of the 7th century AH, under the influence of the conflictsof the Shafi’i and Hanafi religions, major destruction took place in the buildings belonging tothese religions. Subsequently, with the abolition of the dominant religious tendency in the centralgovernment and the spread of the belief in Shamanism and Buddhism, such temples were built. Inthe second half of the 7th century AH, Christian and Jewish religions became more widespread dueto the will of the rulers of the time, and new religious buildings were built, and in some cases newbuildings were built on the basis of previously destroyed religious buildings. Finally, in the late 7thand early 8th centuries AH clashes between various Sunni and Shie religions have subsided, andthe construction of religious buildings became more common. The results of this research showthat just as the religious tendencies of the Ilkhanid rulers changed many times during this period, religious buildings have also undergone many changes, both in the spatial organization and in thedecorations and motifs},

title = {A critique on the theory of determining the first day of the seasons at Niasser fire-temple},
abstract ={Chahar-taqies are buildings from ancient Iran. Although not for sure, many believe thatthese buildings were pre-Islamic religious buildings in Iran. Niasser fire-temple is oneof the examples of constructions that are in good condition in the Niaser Mountains ofKashan. Reza Moradi Ghiasabadi, a freelance researcher, has done extensive research onIranian Chahar-taqies, including the Niasser fire-temple. He believes that the angles andpositioning of the Niasser fire-temple structure are such that the sunrise on the first dayof each season is consistent with certain axes of the building. Therefore, it can be used todetermine the beginning of each season. He has expressed his theory in two books on “Thecalendar buildings” and “Calenddric Structure of Iran” about the Niasser fire-temple. Inthis study, by calculations, measurements and field observations as well as defining theortive amplitude parameter, we show that the sunrise along the beginning of each seasondoes not match the axes of the building. Because in the equinox, that is the first day ofspring and fall, the sun does not rise from any specific angle. In addition, the proposedtheory has not paid attention to the first day of summer and the first day of winter. Onthe first day of spring and the first day of autumn, the sun rises from exactly east, whichdoes not match any of the axes of the building. The difference in sunrise azimuth everyday of the year from the east azimuth is called the ortive amplitude. The ortive amplitudedepends on the latitude of the observer as well as the angle of declination of the sun everyday of the year. The latitude of the Niassar fire-temple is about 34 degrees. Hence, theortive amplitude is about 29 degrees. That is, on the first day of summer the sun rises onazimuth about 61 degrees. On the first day of winter, the sun rises on azimuth about 119degrees. Declination of the sun in the days before and after the solstices is very small. Therefore, the measurement of the ortive amplitude in the solstices must be very precise. But the columns in Niasser fire-temple does not have that precision. In other words, forabout a month, the sun appears to rise from one point. Hence, we can not use the Niasserfire-temple to specify the first day of summer and the first day of autumn. We concludethat the theory presented in solstices, namely the first day of summer and the first day ofwinter, is also inaccurate.},

abstract ={Sense of place is one of the most important factors in improving the quality of urbanenvironments. The presence of this sense is a factor in shaping the communication basesof users and the environment, and creates the necessary motivation for a person to stayin the environment and will also lead to the creation of high quality environments. Thearchitectural quality of mosques as a factor to create a sense of place is one of the issuesof interest to architects. Due to its rich architecture, the historical mosques of Dezful havea special sense of place in different historical periods. Numerous components such asperceptual, physical, social and functional affect the senses in mosques, so in this studywe will examine them. This study aims to explain the role of sense of place components inthe architecture of historic mosques. By recognizing these factors, the quality of creating asense of place in the architecture of mosques could be increased. In this study, 5 historicalmosques of Dezful city were studiedas successful mosques. To measure the relationshipbetween the variables, Pearson correlation method and simple and multivariate linearregression tests were used to determine the relationship and intensity and direction ofthe relationship between independent and dependent variables. SPSS software version23 has been used for statistical analysis. According to the obtained results, the physicalcomponents and perceptual have the greatest effect on inducing the sense of place. Socialand functional components have a lesser effect on inducing sensitivities in mosques. Thevariables of form and visual geometry, form and perceptual geometry, services, securityand social participation are directly affect on inducing a sense of place in mosques.},

title = {Explanation of the Physical Factors Influencing the Formation of Place Attachment Among Newcomers: A Case Study of Elective Urban Spaces of Isfahan},
abstract ={Place attachment is the emotional connection that develops between a person and thephysical environment around them. After more than forty years of research in the field ofplace attachment, the cause and effect as well as the physical factors that affect it have notbeen determined. The features and specifications of a place in both physical and socialdimensions have an influence on the development of this process. Social characteristicsaffect the continuity and strengthening of the emotional connection between the inhabitantsand the place, whereas physical characteristics affect the initial absorption and emergenceof the process of interaction between newcomers and the place. This study reviewspublications in the fields of environmental psychology, human geography, sociology andplace while identifying predictive physical factors, using surveys and questionnaires, thatis three questionnaires, and identifying Isfahan’s urban public spaces with the largestnumber of newcomers, in order to examine the physical factors affecting the attractionand reappearance of the newcomer. The results of this survey show that newcomers areattracted to a place by physical factors with an architectural dimension. However, thephysical factors with an urban dimension lead to their reappearance over time and theformation of the initial levels of attachment based on the proposed model. Based on theresults of this study the model indicates three levels of emerging attachment, attachmentover time, and complete attachment that are introduced considering the factors of timeand newcomer’s reappearance. Newcomers are attracted to the urban spaces of Isfahandue to physical factors with an architectural dimension such as color, texture, buildingfacades, scale and night light, while they are encouraged to return to the place by itsphysical attributes with urban dimensions such as flooring, furnishings, available uses, space dimensions, cleanliness and accessibility. The presence of newcomers during time, will result in the third level formation which is the emotional connection between betweenpeople and the urban space.},

title = {The Causal Model for the Relationship of Architectural Physi cal-Functional Variables and Kids’ Motivation to Play in the Middle Area of Residential Complexes},
abstract ={The population growth of cities on the one hand and rising land prices on the other hand havecreated overcrowded residential environments. Living in such environments has had a negativeimpact on the individual and social health of residents. Children, as the most vulnerable groupin society, are at greater risk of being exposed to changes in physical and social environmentsthan the other groups. The literature review has shown that most recent research focuses onthe characteristics of urban playgrounds, while the lack of playgrounds in residential areas hasconfirmed the necessity of paying attention to design of the middle area in residential complexfor kids’ motivation to play. Hence, the present investigated effective factors that would influencekids’ motivation to play in the middle area of residential complexes adopting a mixed-methodapproach (quantitative & qualitative). Accordingly, the theoretical framework of the research hasbeen developed with a qualitative method and aimed at searching for skeletal-functional andcognitive-behavioral features effective on creating and enhancing kids’ motivation to play. Onthe other hand, the extent and quality of the impact of each component resulted in transformingof quantitative data into quantitative data. In this research, a survey based on the Delphi methodwas used. After the construction and validation of the instrument, 100 architects’ attitude wasexamined. Finally, seven factors affecting on kids’ motivation to play were extracted by usingfactor analysis. These factors were: controllability, child-centered legibility, natural stimulantfactors, social interactions (generational & cross-generational), vitality of environment, curiosityand also, sensory stimulation. Following that, a hypothetical model was proposed based on therelationship between these variables and then, the factors’ relationship type and extent of effect oneach other were obtained by path analysis. Finally, the proposed model was modified. Based onthe analysis of the model, the relationship of the variables under investigation were interpreted:the study of direct and indirect effects of these factors shows the relationship between cognitivebehavioralcharacteristics and physical-functional characteristics that can have an important roleon the environmental affordances for kids’ motivation to play. At the end, the final model forthe relationship between physical-functional variables and cognitive-behavioral variables waspresented.},

title = {Architecture of Art and Magical Architecture in Shahnama},
abstract ={In the world that is depicted by Ferdowsi in Shahnama, architecture (building a placefor human’s living) has a paramount position. In this world, architecture is of two kinds: thearchitecture that has its roots in art, and the architecture that stems from magic. The meaning of art(hunar) in Shahnama is different from its meaning today. Art in Shahnama has a divine origin andis connected with goodness and virtue. Contrasted to art, is magic which is related to indecent andevil. Architecture based on art has heavenly attributes: it is enchanting and eternal; Architecture ofmagic has infernal attributes and thus, is not proper for the living of humans and the good people.Engaging in “the architecture of art” is the best path for the charismatic kings to follow; it isthrough such art that they display their divine grace and decency, and manage to promote abadani(prosperity) and goodness in the world. Some of these kings, following the message of the divinemessenger, build eternal cities which is home to those eternal human beings who are supposed tobe the future saviors of the world. In Shahnama’s narration of Iranian history, architecture and arthave a declining trend in the course of time. At the beginning of time, in the era of the first fourking-prophets, art is related with God’s revelations, and art practitioners learn about art throughthe agency of the divine messengers, which later on they spread and teach to others. But with thefalling of Jamshid and rise of Zahhak “all virtue despises, and magic esteems” and that is whenwe witness the gradual diminishing of the presence, number, and impact of charismatic humanbeings enjoyed by the divine grace. Although the charismatic human beings are still among peopleand engage in eternal art, their association with the divine in learning and teaching art is not aspowerful and abundant as it used to be. Even when the kings set off to build cities and sacredconstructions, it’s no more based on divine messages, but only based on the skill and knowledgeof the world’s best artists and scholars.Architecture in Shahnama covers that which is in theheavens and those residing in it to the architecture on the earth or even below, and those whojoined it. Architecture in Shahnama is both apparent and hidden, visible and invisible, good andbad, heavenly and devilish. The eternal architecture gets built by artists and charismatics, and themagical architecture gets built by the vicious and devils.},

title = {Determining Factors & Variables of IncreasingEfficiency in Assessing and Selecting Restoration Projects & Reusing Historical Houses by Factor Analysis Method},
abstract ={Paying attention to issues related to evaluation, decision making and selection has beenone of the most controversial topics today, and in most cases, not only all the factorsinfluencing the evaluation and selection are not considered, but also the set of factors andvariables considered are not agreed upon by experts. Hence, in this research the issueof identifying factors and variables effective in increasing productivity in the field ofrestoration and reuse of historic buildings has been addressed, and the research is basedon the question that what factors should be considered in order to increase productivityin the evaluation and selection of restoration projects and reuse of historical houses inIran and how important is each of the factors? According to this, the purpose of theresearch is identifying effective variables in evaluating and selectiong restoration projectsand reuse of historic houses with the approach of increasing efficiency and determiningdegree of importance in restoration and reuse of historical houses. In this manuscriptby taking advantage of survey research and through the preparation of questionnaire, experts’ views and opinions on the subject were collected and after doing the validationby factor analysis method, the variables were allowed to be extracted entitled “EffectiveFactors of increasing efficiency and Restoration of Iran Houses”. Each factor was derivedfrom several independent variables and was ranked depending on their significance. Theresults of the questionnaire analysis revealed eight main factors associated with increasingefficiency in houses including: “Protecting Values”, “Efficiency Management”, “Support”,“Uses Determination (Revival)”, “General principles of protection”, “Maintenance”,“Adaptation”, “Execution (Restoration)”. Among the factors determined, “ProtectingValues” gained the most importance. Finally, by obtaining the reliability coefficient ofeach of the factors, it was possible to evaluate and select the restoration projects andincrease their productivity and obtain the total factors agreed upon by the experts.},

title = {A Comparative Analysis of Architectural Proportions of Caravanserais with Courtyards in the Center of Iran during the Safavid and Qajar Eras},
abstract ={Due to the type of function, caravanserais are considered as important buildings in Iranianarchitecture. Research has mostly examined their functional features but caravanserais alsohave aesthetic aspects. Aesthetic analysis can be examined in two aspects: the body of thebuilding and their decoration. As such, based on the importance of caravanserai architecturein the history of Iran, it is necessary to be aware of the developments related to the proportionsof these building in different historical periods. In this regard, in order to find out the evolutionof proportions of Iranian caravanserais, the proportions of caravanserais in the central parts ofIran during the Safavid and Qajar eras have been compared. In this research, data collectionwas conducted through library research as well as examining numerous articles publishedin scientific journals, and data analysis was performed using statistical analysis methods, adopting R and SPSS software. In order to investigate the hypothesis of similarity ordissimilarity of the proportions of caravanserais in central areas of Iran during the Safavid andQajar eras, 12 samples from the Qajar era and 12 samples from the Safavid era were selectedby cluster sampling from different locations. After measuring the dimensions of each sample, the normality of the data was evaluated using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Finally, the datawere verified to be normal. Then, due to the normality of the data, a parametric statistical test(Levene’s Test for Equality of Variances and t-test) was used to finalize the test hypotheses. Atthe end, after performing the aforementioned test, considering that the significance level forthe variables and proportions examined at the confidence level of %95, was more than .05, thehypothesis of similarity of proportions of central Iranian caravanserais during the Safavid andQajar eras was accepted. Based on the obtained results and considering that numerous textsand articles refer to the Safavid era as the golden age of the establishment of caravanserais inIran, during the Qajar era, the construction of caravanserais in the central regions of Iran alsoutilized the same pattern of proportions used in Safavid caravanserais.},

In fact, the purpose of this analysis is tosee the effect of these changes on the method of education and the form of schools. But this requires the use of quantitative and qualitative research methods while in thequalitative review process, library and field research are used, and in the quantitativesection, the mathematical relationship between artificial intelligence and programmingin Python language and Image processing algorithms have been used to ensure relativeaccuracy and fluency in information analysis. As such, the results of the similarityprocess were primarily based on the assumption that the Norieh Safavid School is verysimilar in pictorial aspect to the Qajar schools. But it is also possible that the schoolsthat were categorized in the Qajar period were in fact constructed in the Safavid periodand the registration in the Qajar period was not definitively acceptable. Furthermore, theDarolfonoon school plan differs greatly from the structure of the earlier school curricula.Changes in the structure of schools from this period onwards as well as the separation ofreligious and scientific schools show that educational content has had a significant impacton the alteration of the formal structure of curriculum},

abstract ={Architecture during the Qajar era witnessed great changes because of its relations with other countries. The architecture of mosques located in the city of Shiraz were no exception. Moshir al-Molk and Nasir al-Molk mosques are buildings from the Qajar period which due to their location in these developments and the architectural background of Shiraz, with their unique decorative features in tile and architectural innovations have been of great interest to scholars. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to review the historical process of these two buildings, to examine the innovations that have been made in the elements that make up the mosques and to evaluate their religious and educational activities. In other words, the most important question of this research is: what was the actual performance of Moshir al-Molk and Nasir al-Molk mosques? and what are the architectural features of these two mosques that have not been investigated to a great extent? In the present study, in order to answer the research questions and objectives, field studies and mixed-method research including case-study and historical-interpretation for introducing, categorizing and finding comparative relationships have been used. The results of this research show that the Nasir al-Molk and Moshir al-Molk mosques have a consistent relationship in their architectural elements including the yard, fountain, and facade. On the other hand, these two mosques have a religious-educational function and in comparison to other historical buildings have witnessed great changes in their construction. This is mainly evident in the constructions’ elements such as fluorescent, entrance, ivan, clock tower, and the ornamentations in the facade. },

title = {Exploration and Analyzing Values in Conservation of Industrial Heritage: A Case Study of the Cement Factory of Shahr-e-Rey},
abstract ={As cultural heritage, industrial buildings are prone to various changes and transformations to the extent that they are practically susceptible to complete destruction. Accordingly, such spaces which should be considered lively places have unfortunately turned into the symbols of urban disorder. Furthermore, an industrial heritage covers social, economic, and cultural values. Therefore, dealing with them has its specific significance which makes it necessary to take a particular approach for dealing with each of them regarding their specific condition and values. As the first cement factory in Iran, Shahr-e Rey cement factory is not only a valuable construction in terms of its architecture and antiquity, but it is also a symbol of valuable transformation emerging in Pahlavi I architecture. Besides, considering it as an industrial building adds even more significant value to this structure. In the past couple of years, because the factory has been shut down and it does not have an industrial use any more, the factory has been forgotten and has been transformed into a desserted location. As such, this paper adopted qualitative research methods as a basis for data collection and analysis, which primarily involved the use of content analysis along with field observations and interviews with stakeholders and indigenous residents. By reviewing and analyzing international conventions and documents, and expert opinions, the present study, therefore, strived to find out how to conserve the value of the industrial heritage. The necessity of transmitting working and activity morale as well as the industrial style belonging to the cement factory of Shahr-e-Rey increases the importance of maintaining the building. Thus, injecting dynamism, liveliness and vigor into the mentioned construction and preserving its character simultaneously is possible through an emphasis on conservation of particular values and adaptive reuse of the cement factory.},

abstract ={Qavam al-Din Shirazi was one of the prominent architects of the Timurid era who has left many works in memories such as the Goharshad Mosque in Mashhad and the Goharshad Mosque in Herat. What is considered as an architectural work in the study of a building is the material and physical aspects of the architectural space. Due to the destruction of Herat's Goharshad Mosque, one of the ways to understand the architecture of the mosque is to examine its geometric proportions with the Goharshad Mosque in Mashhad because the Goharshad Mosque in Mashhad was built before the Herat Goharshad Mosque, and it is possible that Qavam al-Din used common geometric proportions in the design of the mosques. Therefore, the present study aims to find a common geometric proportions system in two Qavam al-Din index buildings, namely Goharshad Mosques in Mashhad and Herat, to analyze and compare the geometric proportions of the ground floor plan of these mosques. The research method used in this research is historical-commentary. Data collection was done in two sections: library and document analysis and maps. As such, geometric proportions of Goharshad mosques in Mashhad and Herat were analyzed and compared using geometric proportions patterns. The research results show that Qavam al-Din used similar geometric proportions and ratios in these mosques. In other words, in both mosques, the dome, the length of the prayer hall, and the combination of the dome complex with the prayer hall have similar geometric proportions and there are differences in the Geometric proportions and ratios of the central courtyard and porches of the two mosques that may be related to the context (location of the building) and the type of use.},

title = {Analysis of permissible water inscriptions in Jame’ Mosque of Esfahan},
abstract ={The inscription dedicated to permissible water in the Isfahan Grand Mosque is one of the most valuable endowment letters of the Safavid period. The content of the above inscription refers to the name of Amir Aslan bin Rostam Sultan Laleh Afshar Arshlou, who during the reign of Shah Tahmasb I, by digging a river, brought the permissible water to the mosque and dedicated it to this building. This research has been written for the first time with the aim of analyzing the above inscription and answering questions regarding the reasons for transferring water to the Isfahan Grand Mosque and speculating its route. The investigation is based on library, field and analytical studies. Research data is also collected based on field information (reading inscriptions) and library information (visual documents, books and articles). The results of the study showed that by examining the political and social conditions of the Safavid period, it became clear that the establishment of the central government, the recognition of the Shiite religion and social and economic security have been effective factors in creating a suitable environment for expanding endowment. In some cases, endowment has been a political move to get closer to the king and the court, or to keep the property safe. Dedication of property has also contributed to the political and social reputation of the courtiers. It seems that the role and influence of scholars in the political and social structure in the Safavid period has caused us to witness many endowments in this period. (Referring to the role of Sheikh Ali Manshar as Sheikh of Islam at the time in Isfahan). Acquiring the reward of the Hereafter and leaving a good name for oneself has been another motivation for the waqf for waqf. It also appears that the above stream was an independent river that was dug only to supply water to the Isfahan Grand Mosque, and that the city’s structure at the time, despite its gardens and groves, made this possible. It also seems that with the capital city of Isfahan, at the same time with the construction of a comprehensive urban plan in the Safavid period, the Isfahan Grand Mosque was destroyed and the above inscription was destroyed due to secrecy (not continuing the endowment) or negligence in the pipeline. The water of the mosque has been hidden and this has caused the destruction of the above river, and that is why, among all the detailed descriptions of the tourists from the Isfahan Grand Mosque, there has never been any mention of the flow of running water from inside the mosque.},

abstract ={Ancient Persian sources are among the most important sources for understanding the past architecture of Iran. From mong these texts is the of book Nuzhat Nama-yi Ala’i by Shah Mardan Ibn Abi al-Khayr, which was written in the last years of the fifth century AH. This book is an encyclopedia of common sciences of that time and includes various subjects such as animals, plants, jewelry, arithmetic, astronomy, handicrafts, etc. The subject of this article is the extraction, categorization and study of principles and categories in the book of Nuzhat Nama, which is used for theoretical discussions of architecture. The research has been conducted adopting the interpretive method and in the way of reading, understanding and interpreting the book of Nuzhat Nama through the text itself, so the focus of this research is the book of Nuzhat Nama and only secondary sources have been referred to for more knowledge and better reasoning. The findings of this research has been organized in three chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the context and time of the book and in it a brief outline of the position of Nuzhat Nama and its author is outlined. In the second chapter, the dominant principles of the book about the world and man are discussed and categorized. These principles lay the foundations for the third chapter, which are the principles extracted from the book on architecture, including: the dignity of architecture, the discovery of wisdom and meaning, the observance of time, the knowledge of nature and moderation, the harmony of form and good meaning. According to the world of architecture, architecture is one of the noble crafts. The architect needs to be aware of the times of misfortune and different natures in his work, to master the techniques of his work in order to be able to estimate a good building, to seek wisdom and meanings, and to try to implement the principle of moderation in architecture. },

title = {Design Stategies for Boys’ Preschools in Isfahan with the Aim of Creating Place Attachment},
abstract ={One of the first and most important public spaces with which children deal is the educational space and the most basic spaces are preschools. Children's belonging to preschools affects their future to enhance their education. Many studies have been conducted in Iran on the creation and upgrading of educational spaces for children, but studies on children as the main source of qualitative data are very limited. The main question in this paper is, what are the factors affecting the place attachment of preschoolers from the views of boys and what are the design strategies derived from them. In this paper, using a combined and four-stage research method, design strategies were developed to establish the belonging of boys to preschoolers in Isfahan. The three main components of place attachment in these spaces are physical, individual properties, and personal and social interactions that were derived from the first stage using library resources and their content analysis, along with their main categories and sub-categories. Subsequently, at the next stages with a focus on these three key components, some of the designing strategies were developed by drawing mental images and open-ended interviews with children. Another part of these strategies was obtained through questions and answers from architecture experts, educators and psychologists of children. The importance of outdoor and natural spaces, the presence of nature, water and natural light indoors, wildlife, a space for physical activity, the use of technology for entertainment, spaces to show feelings and likening children with desired environments, spaces for child's identity and development and imagination, interactions, participation, and exploration was obtained from the first three stages of the research. The architects, educators, and psychologists of children, at the end of the fourth stage, provided details of some of their design and rating strategies in terms of their importance.},
